x9 FREE animated TV & movie scenes for awesome video presentations in mmhmm

The beautifully crafted mmhmm is one of our favourite tools for injecting much-needed fun and creativity into live-streamed presentations and personalised marketing videos. In fact, our founder, Dave appeared as a guest on their Masters of mmhmm series not so long ago.

While mmhmm comes with a bunch of incredible rooms that you can dive straight into, we love nothing more than flexing our creative juices and developing custom scenes to fit the perfect situation. In a recent promo (see video above) for our UP creative personalised video service, we thought it would be fun to create some animated scenes inspired by some famous movies and TV shows. The final video included Ghostbusters, Knightrider, Jaws, Harry Potter, Airwolf, Star Wars, Dr Who, The A-Team and Back to the Future.

We were pretty pleased with the results, and we thought they deserved a wider audience. So, we’ve decided to share the assets for all nine of those scenes with the world (for free!), so you can wow people in your next live stream, video presentation or video recording.

How to create your free tv & movie slides in mmhmm

Each downloadable scene features a lightweight, seamlessly looping animated background video in MP4 format, along with a transparent PNG image (both in 16:9, 1920 x 1080px, HD format).

To create the scene on your computer, follow these basic steps:

Upload the animated background MP4 file to a new custom room in mmhmm studio (you’ll need access to premium tools to do this).
Create a new slide and call it something appropriate (like ‘A-Team’).
Highlight the slide and select the custom Room you’ve just created.
Go to Slides > Add Images of Videos and select the accompanying PNG for the room you’ve just created.
Change the slide setting to ‘Full’
Go to Slides menu and select ‘Display slides on Top’
Position the presenter (you) in the right spot by resizing and moving within the scene.
In the presenter menu, change the Presenter view to show in full frame and crop your presenter box where appropriate so you don’t go beyond the bounds on the front PNG mask.
Voila – your scene is ready for filming/presenting!
